Junior Data Analysis Expert

For our client in Basel we are looking for a Junior Data Analysis Expert for a one year contract.

Place: Basel

Duration: 13.11.2017-31.12.2018 (Remote: 1 day per week, prior approval needed)

Workload: 100%

Travelling: Limited travel, if the project requires, 0 to 25% possible (Europe & USA for meetings, conferences and workshops)

Background: We are looking for a number of roles to support the Pharma Research and Early Development Digital Biomarker program. This program's objective is to develop digital biomarkers.

The program's focus areas are:

- 1) Design digital biomarkers: Define ways to capture clinical outcomes using sensor data collected from smartphones and wearables
- 2) Develop apps and data processing pipeline: Establish processes, software, and infrastructure to handle big data collected from sensors in clinical trials
- 3) Deploy digital biomarkers to clinical studies: Generate data to validate approaches and support decision making
- 4) Analyse and interpret sensor data: Identify signals for disease severity and progression in sensor data collected from patients in trials

Tasks & Responsibilites: The successful candidate will be analysing large amounts sensor data collected from smartphones and other wearables in clinical trials to discover digital biomarkers required to assess drug efficacy.

Must Haves:

- Very good university degree in mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics
- 3+ years of experience with analysing big data sets, data visualization (former engineering experience as well as technical know-how shown in the last projects)
- Experience with software development and big data infrastructures
- Experience with analysing biomechanical and sensor data desirable
- Profound knowledge in Python, R, Matlab or similar software packages/languages
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-starting team player
- Fluent in English

Nice to Haves:

+++ German speaking

+++ Working experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with clinical studies
