Javascript and Angular Developer

One of our prestigious clients is looking for a Javascript and Angular developer for a contract based at our clients offices in Brussels, Belgium.

The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of JavaScript and Angular, and preferably be able to speak either French or Dutch.

This migration consists of changing the technology stack of a suite of applications from ColdFusion/Oracle to Java/Oracle. The suite is supporting grant management, financial management, HR management and (partly) the scientific evaluation process.

The new applications will be built following a modern web app architecture. The Front End will be a HTML5, JavaScript application using Angula rJS talking to a Java Back End via REST services producing and consuming JSON-objects. The Back End will be architected as micro services talking to each other via REST-services and JMS. The team is following an Agile software development methodology and as such also continuous integration and continuous delivery are first class citizens and not just an afterthought.

Detailed tasks

- Analysis of the user interface requirements;
- Review of usability requirements;
- User interface design specifications;
- Design of user interfaces;
- Visual prototype;
- Evaluation of user interfaces;
- Elaborate navigation mapping design.

Required Skills

Other than the skills defined by the profile, the candidate should have following skills:

- Specific expertise in web interface design;
- Strong knowledge and experience in present-day web usability principles;
- Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML5, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, the DOM, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, RequireJS, Knockout, etc.
- Experience in writing modular Javascript applications;
- Experience and understanding of unit testing of Javascript applications;
- Experience of integration with REST web services producing and consuming JSON objects;
- Team player, good communicator, passionate about development and extending skills;

Optional Skills

Following expertise is considered as an asset:

- Experience with setting up a Javascript Developer's Toolchain;
- Experience and understanding of agile development techniques, such as iterative software development, test-driven development, refactoring and pair programming;
- Interest in becoming a full-stack developer on the longer term;
