My client, a large organisation is in the need for an XML Developer to join their advanced development team.

An initial 3-month contract with the view to extend based on performance and capability.

This is a unique position to showcase your programming and development skills whilst working in a team that will includes Database Administrators, System Architects and Systems Analysts.

The role will offer the responsibility to work on a new technical project that will involve the transfer of Intranet and Extranet files and make them readable to the public.

You will have experience of developing XML Schemas, a working knowledge of XSLT, Xquery and Schematron.

You will also have experience of XML processing in Java.

You must have energy, enthusiasm and the willingness to learn whilst having a methodical and meticulous approach to work.

Desirable experience includes, programming Java 1.6 with Spring and Hibernate and also a good track record in delivering complex Java applications.

Experience of testing methodologies is advantageous and experience of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Maven and Tomcat.

An understanding of Subversion or Git, an awareness of Scala and experience of developing using Drools Flow would also be an added advantage.

Strong commercial acumen backed by in-depth technical experience.
