Java Software Engineer: Front Office Java Applications

One of the world's largest providers of financial services is seeking a Java Software Developer for an integral team within their Fixed Income and Money Market groups. This team is responsible for developing a platform that has over 100 users and is critical to the operations of the business. The Java Developer will have the opportunity to work closely with various business teams, learn more about Fixed Income and develop the high data platform that supports it. In this team the Java Developer will have a unique opportunity to work in a Front Office environment to advance their technical skills but also interact directly with the Portfolio Managers, Traders, Product Management and key software vendors. The Fixed Income team is a key contributor in developing innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enable Asset Management to achieve a competitive advantage globally. Primary Responsibilities: * Agile delivery team member building and enhancing applications base on Java/J2EE, Struts, Spring and JavaScript running both on Linux and windows. * Package and deploy financial software through various environments to productions. * Work closely with the business users to gather and refine requirements. Skills and Knowledge: * Excellent analytical skills, problem solving and lateral thinking are required. * Strong team player who takes initiative and works constructively with other inter-disciplinary team member to achieve goals. * Experience working worth some form of Agile. * Experience developing, supporting and deploying Java/J2EE applications within a Linux/Unix environment. * A through understanding and knowledge of relational databases including Oracle. * 3+ years of experience developing enterprise applications in Java.
