Java Software Engineer/Belgium

Description:

For in-house developed solutions, the client is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer who is able to develop qualitative solutions based on business requirements related to a telecom web-based environment. This person will work within the Digital Architecture team accountable mainly for cross web, cross-project development of micro-services platform and the development of the CI/CD track for Back End and web Front End solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Participate in the technical design of the solution based on business requirements gathered and analysed by analyst and architect.
- Participate in the technical design and development of the microservice architecture used at the client.
- Participate in the project estimations.
- Develop qualitative web-solutions related to Web solutions using Agile.
- Act as an active member to ensure high code quality (clean code, unit testing, regression tests, ) delivered in time and within budget.
- Document the delivered code/solution.
- Perform development testing.
- Participate in the implementation of the releases following change & management processes.
- Provide support to the operation team in case of major incidents for which engineering knowledge is required.
- Provide solutions (bug fixes ) for problem mgt.

Experience & expertise:

- University, or equivalent by experience, ideally Master in IT.
- At least 3 years of experience with Java web-based development.
- Profound knowledge of the Spring framework and Java ecosystem.
- Experience with continuous integration and automated test & build tools.
- Hands-on experience with Agile development principles & methodologies.
- Following experiences are considered an asset:
- Experience in a telecom company.
- Netflix stack (Spring cloud, Hystrix, Zuul).
- Cloud deployment (eg Openshift).
- Working knowledge of Scripting languages (Groovy, Shell).
- Linux/Unix usage.
- Experienced Java software engineer Technical Skills
- Knowledge and user experience with the following: Eclipse/IntelliJ. Git.Sonar. Hibernate/JPA. REST/SOAP. Maven/Nexus. Jenkins. Spring
- Ability to develop and test qualitative source code based on functional requirements in an Agile working environment.
- Strong skills in automation, continuous integration, unit testing and integration testing
