Java Software Engineer

Java Developer - Spring - Ruby - Cucumber - Maven - Agile - TDD - BDD - Manchester

My client, a leading Media company is looking for an experienced Java Developer (Software Engineer) to temporarily supplement a highly skilled and motivated team implementing service layer components providing Search facilities used within the company websites.

Their main focus will be on a technology refresh of the existing Search stack and enhancements to existing Search functionality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure software conforms to operational requirements of hosting environment.
- Design and implement components to specification that are efficient, scalable and well abstracted.
- Write unit and functional tests using automated TDD techniques to ensure code quality.
- Write clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation.

ESSENTIAL/REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Extensive Java development
- Use of Spring frameworks
- Ruby development with testing in Cucumber
- Maven
- Hudson
