We have a need for a Java/J2EE Enterprise Architect for a LONG-TERM 1+ year contract based in New York, NY 10012, offering a hourly rate is around $70/hr

What you need for this position:

- 7+ years overall technology experience in Java/J2EE
- Experience in a technical lead role or architect level
- Prior experience in architecting, designing and implementing solutions in Education/Publishing Domain is preferred
- Bachelor†s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands on experience in building automated tool based engineering and testing practices
- Hands on working knowledge in one of more of the following areas would be a huge plus:
- LMS
- Digital book publishing platform
- Entitlement, provisioning and authentication systems
- Content management application
- Data warehouse, dashboard and reporting system
- Global deployment and high scalable portal platforms

What you'll be doing:

- Document/Recommend new platform APIs for integration with other products/apps.
- Study the performance issues and suggest strategy to improve performance for new platform/products.
- Work towards an ultimate goal to build a highly scalable and flexible platform that can meet the need of global need across 5 time zones
- LAMP stack will be the primary technology
