Java FX Institutions in Brussels

For one of the DG's of the European Commission Ordina is searching a Java Developer with expertise in Java FX and related technologies.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will use your Java/Web development experience to develop, deploy, and maintain a Java FX public health full client. You will also provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.

Essential Job Duties:
■Work on new Java development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design decisions
■Implement enhancements to existing system in addition to coordinating with other developers working in parallel and perform QA/testing as needed
■Provide software development services on all tiers (UI, Java, Oracle)

YOUR BACKGROUND:

■ Bachelor or Master Degree
■ Minimum 5+ years software development experience
■ Minimum 3+ years Java experience
■ Java/JEE development, software engineering and problem solving
■ Experience with web-based development for Java applications, specifically user interface (UI/UX) design
■ Experience and familiarity with modern web-based development frameworks or component libraries

YOUR EXPERTISE:

■ Strong knowledge in Java FX (Java full client applications), XML and SQL
■ Familiarity working in an agile environment / scrum
■ Experience with Java Swing, JavaFX, Rich Client Platforms (such as NetBeans, Eclipse, Flash/Flex
■ Experience in one or more of following technologies: Eclipe, Bootstrap/AngularJS, JSF, Hibernate, Subversion (SVN), JBoss, and JSP
■ UX design experience is a plus
■ Experience with Spring/Struts frameworks, RESTful services is a plus
■ Experience working in a large, enterprise environment is a plus

LANGUAGES:

■ English
■ Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus (not a must)
