Java Developer

Beacon Hill Technologies has a long term contract opportunity for a Java Developer. This position is expected to last at least 6 months to 1 year.

Job Details:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develops, unit tests, and code reviews development tasks
- Designs loosely-coupled, reusable, and testable code structures
- Participates in user story workshops to gather requirements with team
- Designs and optimizes databases to support web applications
- Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Java 1.5+ web development
- HTML/CSS
- Javascript/JQuery
- Struts and/or Spring framework
- SQL Server and relational database knowledge
- ORM tools such as Hibernate, LLBLGen Pro, etc.
- Advanced Unit testing with mocking framework
- Test Driven Development

DESIRED SKILLS

- Experience with an Agile development process like Scrum
- J2EE
- Web services (SOAP and REST)
- Apache Wicket
- Jenkins
- Maven
- Experience working directly with end users to write functional specs, use cases, and/or user stories
