Java Developer

TITLE: Java Developer - Multiple Openings

DURATION: 6 + Months (Contract to Hire)

RATE: Market

LOCATION: Austin, TX

DESCRIPTION:

Our direct client is seeking multiple Java Developers for a product development project in Austin, Texas.

The workers will contribute to the development, delivery and maintenance of technology-based business solutions. Candidate must be skilled in designing, coding, testing, and implementing configuration changes to software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements. Must possess a high level of communication skills as candidates will be expected to interact with both business and technical resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Gathering functional requirements and developing technical specifications and project/test planning
- Designing/developing software applications, project prototypes, proofs of concept and client demos
- Reviewing designs and code output from development team and results produced by QA personnel
- Interfacing with other technical and functional groups

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development
- Can create designs and approach from requirements for review with senior team members

PREFERRED:

- 2+ years Java development experience utilizing web-based applications such as J2EE, JDK, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and HTML
- Experience with the following technologies, platforms and languages: J2EE 1.5, XML, JSP, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience coordinating the work of other more junior developers
- Strong preference for 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field, will consider 2 year degree and/or equivalent work experience
