DESCRIPTION:
My client requires 2 X J2EE Developers, for a coding role in the design and development of new learning management services. .
The Java/J2EE Developer positions will report directly to the Engineering lead and will be located in their Dublin office.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Ideal candidate will have 5 plus years Java/J2EE development experience
- Hibernate, JUnit, Spring Frameworks, web services, Oracle
- Some exposure to Front End technologies like JQuery, Ajax, Flex & Adobe Flash
- Requires a very strong level of interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- J2EE architecture and design patterns real world experience
- Experience of Agile Scrum development
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Knowledge of deploying and running apps on JBoss and/or Tomcat
- Apache Web Server administration knowledge
- J2EE security (OAuth, ws-security, Spring Security, JAAS)
- Unix Scripting
- Selenium
- PL/SQL
- JQuery
- Cross browser development
- Mobile web
- Experience of internationalisation
- Experience of developing accessible sites
- Knowledge of Unit Testing
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration
- Atlassian suite of tools, Bamboo, Clover, Fisheye, Confluence and JIRA
- Practical knowledge of Source Control Management, specifically branching, tagging and merging of different code streams
- Exposure to the educational software environment and familiarity with industry standards and specifications
- Experience of agile development processes an advantage
- Possess excellent communication skills, the drive to succeed and work independently and on a team, with the ability to multi task, and deliver quality results
- M.Sc. in Computer Science or B.S. and equivalent experience
