Java Architect, Portal Architect, Waterfall, Spring, Agile

My client a leading Telecomms solutions provider is seeking to recruit a senior Java architect with the below skill set:

Role Purpose
Solution Architect is responsible for the platform and software architecture of both Internet facing consumer estate and internal content management systems

Accountability
*Interfacing with internal customers on translation of business requirements to technical requirements.
*Managing day to day platform/service design
*Involvement in tenders and significant projects
*Developing own experience and knowledge base

Technical
*Development of designs and configurations based on Strategies, Architectures and High Level Designs defined by Eircom CTO Organisation
*Development of migration plans to migrate customers, traffic and services from older platforms to replacement platforms
*To prepare detailed specifications, estimates, designs, record structures, triggers, rules, interfaces, resilience and contingency plans, including externally sourced solutions.
*To develop relevant scripts, configurations, data-build, quality standards and acceptance criteria, to support required solutions
*Capacity management, including hardware, memory and processor capacity
*Hardware & Software Release management and upgrades
*To design solutions ensuring the highest possible availability achievable within the budget.
*To ensure that the overall solution design meets best telecommunications technology practices, including the specification of non-functional requirements. eg operational performance.

Role specific technical skills
*Experience of leading on technical deliverables within a project setting.
*Experience in the design and development of scalable Consumer/Business Web Applications
*Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle, in particular using Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
*Excellent documentation skills, particularly:
oTechnical Documentation
oData Modelling
oSoftware/Hardware Architecture
oVisio/PowerPoint etc
*Design, build and test network/application components.
*Ensuring delivery targets are met on time, to budget, and meet applicable quality criteria.
*Excellent working knowledge of a selection of these technologies and applications including:
oSPRING (in particular v3.0)
oJ2EE, PHP
oWeb Services (SOAP, REST)
oData Interchange Formats (XML,JSON)
oTomcat/JBOSS ESB
oHudson, Jenkins, other continuous integration tools
oSQL Server, LDAP, NoSQL Solutions
oShell, Perl & Python Scripting
oSingle Sign-On (SAML, OpenID)
oWeb Application Security Standards (OWASP etc)
*Good operational knowledge of network infrastructure, Operating Systems (Windows, Red Hat, Solaris), Virtualisation (VMWare ESX), Databases (SQL Server,MySQL, NoSQL solutions) and related applications.
*Familiarity with existing web technologies and future trends
*Good knowledge of relevant protocols and standards (TOGAF, W3C etc
