Java Application Support

We are currently searching for a Java application Support Engineer to work in Amsterdam for 6 months + extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large multi-national client.

The Technical/Functional Application Manager is part of a team of technical engineers that ensures 24/7 the availability and performance of our Internet payment platform. As technical hands-on experts we are responsible to foresee or detect, to prevent or resolve all technical issues endangering the uptime of the Front Office applications.

Deliverables/Tasks:

-Resolve daily function and technical application issues and bugs
-Apply releases, changes and updates in close cooperation with other technicians
-Train and instruct the ControlRoom on Technical/Functional Application troubleshooting
-Every 4-6 weeks one week 24/7 'on call'
-Critical Competencies

*A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
.Fluent in English (word and writing)
.Working according to or having knowledge of ITIL
.Technical Knowledge

Sound knowledge and experience in the following areas is a must:

Linux OS, Shell Scripting
troubleshooting
SQL, Java, Sun One, SSL, Python, WebLogic, Apache,
Knowledge of relational databases (preferably Oracle)
Application tuning - ability to read the technical components/parameters
