ITU/ICU Nurse - Burns Unit

MSI Nurses are currently looking to recruit qualified ITU nurses, with burns experience, to work in local Hospitals based in Essex.

We can offer ad-hoc shifts or contracted work in this area.

Job summary:
- Assesses patients, plans and implements care in ITU
- Provides advice and maintains associated records
- Carries out nursing procedures
- May provide clinical supervision and managerial leadership to other staff, students

Experience:
- At least 6 months UK experience
- Current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within ITU appropriate to the assignment.
- If newly qualified (within the last year) evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully.
- NMC registration

Skills and abilities:
- Able to assess, plan, implement & evaluate programmes of care
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate within the interdisciplinary team and across disciplines and agencies
- Effective communication skills (written, non-verbal & verbal)
- Able to function effectively as a team member
- Self motivated, uses own initiative and will make decisions
- Works well in stressful situations and able to respond effectively to challenging situations
- Ability to deliver the full range of care to a ventilated patient
