IT Test Consultant

IT TEST CONSULTANT

My client requires an experienced Test Consultant to join their project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide end-to-end testing skills in complex programs and projects
- Provide direction and guidance for test process improvements and establishing policies
- Define test strategy, prepare test plans and negotiate acceptance criteria with customer
- Plan and manage the day to day activities for the test leads and testers
- Maintain test environment and test data base integrity
- Escalation point for the test team for any issues
- Responsible for bringing new advanced process and procedures in testing technology, strategies and tactics into the company
- Guide, instruct and direct local and offshore test teams
- Risk monitoring
- Elaborate test execution completeness report
- Work with test team on list of potential activities and solutions
- Support deployment of solution
- Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation & information sharing

QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCES:

- At least 6 years of functional testing experience with strong hands-on skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in test management
- App test management experience for at least 2-4 years
- Extensive experience in the following areas:
- Test management
- Defect Tracking & reporting
- Monitoring and reporting
- Test estimation & forecasting experience
- Should be ISTQB/ISEB certified
- Experience across various test phases - system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing
- Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools
- Should be able to articulate the status in both reporting format and to senior stakeholders to cover off the actual status and key risks and issues
- Excellent planning and people management skills
- Knowledge of the OSS domain, system or application-under-test (desirable)
- Experience programming or managing programming teams is a plus
- Solid knowledge on defect management tools: IBM or HP and JIRA
- A good level of experience with HPQC (ALM) test management tool
- Understanding of the OSS systems and solutions will be highly useful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will assist them in making decisions, making priority calls and attending calls with the customers
