IT TECHNICIAN
Our Giant Pharma client in Basel, Switzerland is looking for IT Technician for 1+ year contract.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
To evaluate installing and maintaining server and Workstation systems (hardware, software, and local area networks) in the area of individual information processing
MAIN TASKS:
- Evaluating, allocating, installing and maintaining new hardware, software and network components (operating system, standard software, applications and network software) and communication components.
- Moving and equipping workstations. Instructing users how to handle the equipment. Initiating repairs and replacement of defective hardware.
- Localizing and eliminating error conditions in the areas of hardware, software and communication network
- Maintaining a technical inventory of all installed and stored hardware, software and network components.
- Accepting and handling technical problems
- Measuring, analysing and monitoring the load and the quality of systems and network components. Developing proposals optimization.
- Developing implementation concepts for Servers and local networks
- Maintaining and enhancing small local networks and other hardware and softare components with regards of security aspects and troubleshooting
- Coordinating the rollout planning of new components and release changes.
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma and informatics education (SIZ), MCP - MCSE certification is an advantage - 2 + years of successful technical experience in a desk side support position or similar
- Excellent technical skills for analysing and troubleshooting problems in a complex customer environment. PC Hardware and Periphery. Windows Client Technology, Desktop and Productivity tools and experience with at least one Ticketing tool
- Strong communication abilities and customer focused behavior
- Technical writing for documentation
- Very good English and German skills are required (written and spoken)
