IT TECHNICAL ARCHITECT

- Review and update of technical policies for Client IT - eg H/W Refresh, Virtual Desktop.
- Engagement with operations teams about the ongoing development of the technical strategy.
- Engagement with Project Managers to help validate estimates/estimate overall implementation plans.
- Provision of technical consultancy on technical architecture and infrastructure developments across areas such as Windows, Unix, Networking, Virtualisation, Security, Cloud.
- Provision of assistance in choosing the right technology mix and developing technical specifications for projects.
- Provision of assistance in analysis of existing and future product volumetrics and ensure that architecture is fit for purpose.
- Production of clear technical design documentation and diagrams and presentation materials.
- Provision of advice on various technical security approaches.
- Provision of assistance with improving the standard of technical delivery and competencies within the technical teams.
- Exhibition of advanced technical architect qualification through industry certification (eg TOGAF)Provision of knowledge and experience in lead technical roles in projects through the SDLC and knowledge of a variety of data roles in that life cycle.
- Provision of knowledge of a number of industries and enterprise programmes ideally including the Utilities industry.
- Provision of knowledge and experience of working with virtualisation technologies - strong knowledge of VMware and Citrix
- Provision of knowledge and experience of specifying, developing and deploying architectures and infrastructure for software applications in an integrated application environment
- Provision of knowledge and experience of a broad knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and security trends and evaluation of new technologies for their appropriateness to proposed solutions.
- Proven experience working across a broad technology stack (Servers, Networks, Desktop, OS, Storage etc).
