Our client, a major Insurance firm in central Brussels is seeking an IT Team Manager to begin work on a 12 month+ contract.
Due to the level of seniority and the working environment, you MUST be able to speak both French and Dutch (one fluent and the other at least on a basic level).
Your role, managing a group of 5-10 colleagues, will be to oversee and coordinate your team's activities and provide mentoring to them throughout the project where you will also deliver on budget and on time.
We are looking for somebody with prior experience in Portfolio and Project Management with further experience in Software Development and Testing.
YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tell the story by providing to my team the context & the vision
- Assure the quality & operational continuity of the assets in your domain
- Plan & prioritize
- Communicate
- Report to the team manager (level3)
- Manage the relationship with you client
- Trust the positive approach by stimulating teams cooperation
- Develop my team taking into account individual strengths and diversity
- Drive performance by defining clear & motivating targets for the team
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:
- Build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders as well as
- Follow up the workload demanded by your client.
- Negotiate a realistic workload (set priorities).
- Detect issues and make propositions to solve them.
- Give feedback on the projects in the portfolio (milestones, scope, budget, resource assignation, planning).
- Plan technical upgrade with your client.
- Proactive collaboration with IT stakeholders
- Timing before full autonomy within 2 months
- Provide up to date spreadsheet with a status of a projects in portfolio
- Monthly presentation of the portfolio to clients.
