IT Systems Integration Engineer

IT SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ENGINEER

The Systems Engineer in this contract position will integrate various RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) technology ingredients including Hardware, Firmware, OS, and Applications on a SDP (Software Development Platform) and/or CRB (Customer Reference Board) as per the defined use-case. This would include installing CPU, Memory, and PCIe cards, updating BIOS, loading standard OS's such as RedHat Linux, SUSE Linux, and MSFT WinServer 12.

Responsibilities to include:

- Configuring the Servers for remote log-in and control
- Develop Technology Integration Guide documenting key learning from the integration efforts
- Validation of the integrated system in the lab
- Setting up lab bench with appropriate error injection tools and support testing various technology features (include collecting the test data)
- Documentation of key learning and support development of Validation Procedures
- Support of the team in developing demos showcasing the technology use-cases and features to internal and external customers

Required skills:

- Experience in installing and configuring Hardware components of a server, eg, CPU, memory, HDD, and PCIe cards, Software components such as BIOS and operating systems
- Scripting - Python/Bash/TCL and other languages
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, debug skills

Preferred Skills:

- Good understanding of Server Architecture
- Hands-on experience in installing and configuring Hardware and Software components
- Strong Scripting - Python/Bash/TCL and other languages
- Technical knowledge of/ability to rapidly learn computer design and components (Desktop/Workstation/Server)
- Experience Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, QEMU, etc.)
- Experience with Flash Programmers, network and SMBus Protocol Analyzers

Degree Required: BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
