IT Support Analyst

IT SUPPORT ANALYST required for this challenging role in an international bank based in Zurich. This is a technical role for an IT Supporter with excellent knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows desktop and Server family, MS Office 2003, 2007 and MS Sql server. Any additional knowledge of databases, Networking, Unix and or Linux and mobile devices would be appreciated. Your role will be to troubleshoot and diagnose errors and bugs and analyse and develop immediate resolution to problems to be followed by long term permanent solutions. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be required to provide on-call and weekend work on occasion for which you will be compensated. This IT Support role would suit someone junior who is keen to progress their career and increase their knowledge and skills with the additional advantage of learning about investment banking and trading activities in a friendly but busy working environment.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

- Advanced Microsoft platform skills such as Windows desktop and Server family (including AD, and managing users and groups)
- Advanced in office tools (MS Office 2003, 2007)
- Experience with MS SQL Server
- GERMAN LANGUAGE SKILLS

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

- Generic knowledge of Databases
- Understanding of mobile device setup (blackberry)
- Basic understanding of Network principles
- Basic understanding of Unix/Linux/Netapp
- Basic understanding of IP phones and digital phone systems.

CLIENT SERVICES AND SUPPORT

- Incident and Problem management: Owner of user issues and ensure that trouble tickets are updated and acted on appropriately
- Setup and support of basic user desktop equipment including mobile devices
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Business Units and understand key BU applications and processes

INFRASTRUCTURE & TECHNOLOGY

- Identify chronic issues and remediate/escalate accordingly
- Improve efficiency in day to day IT operations
- Conduct due diligence and check-outs on IT operational procedures/change requests
- Communicate with Vendors on outstanding issues and requirements.
- Capable of initiating and managing local projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Ensuring that Client requests are dealt with in a timely and professional fashion
- Ensure that standards and procedures are followed
- Ensure that recognized risks are flagged/key actions taken

THIS IS A LONG TERM PROJECT AND ONLY THOSE PREPARED TO COMMIT TO LIVING AND WORKING IN ZURICH WILL BE CONSIDERED. THIS ROLE WILL NOT SUIT WEEKEND COMMUTERS.
