IT Senior Sybase Database Administrator

Randstad professionals are looking to find a responsible and open minded candidate who adds value to our client's IT team. Our client is an international Swiss Bank.

We offer:

- An exciting and challenging role as IT Senior Sybase Database Administrator for the Database Integration team which support Risk and Finance IT (Insight)
- Support of the development phase in a critical project, including but not limited to, task execution; backup, restore and clone of the instances, problem solving (like resolution of system and performance issues), active monitoring, Access Management etc.
- Close working relationship with project- and team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments. Shiftwork is required.
- Responsibility for Consulting activities, design of solutions and implementation of DB infrastructure solutions
- Support Releases and deliverables of Projects
- Development of DBA solutions and project advice
- Responsibility for Project DBA requests as part of a DB Integration team
- Part of the 2nd Level Sybase DBA OnCall team

You offer:

- Graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subject; alternatively relevant work experience in the database area
- Professional experience (min. 5 years) in Sybase ASE Database Administration on Linux/Unix platforms
- Skills in DB Optimization and Tuning
- Experience and knowledge of Sybase Replication Server/Sybase IQ
- Background in MSSQL (2008/12/14) would be an advantage
- Min. 3 years' experience in production support
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationship
- A background in the financial industry is a plus
- Very good communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English, German as an additional asset
