IT Project Specialist/3rd Line Support

A large Global company based in the Thames Valley are looking for an IT Project Specialist to join there existing team to act as the technical lead on a broad range of projects ranging in complexity from simple software deployments to full network and domain designs.

The IT Project Specialist/3rd Line Support role will be suitable for candidates who are currently in a technical support (Infrastructure/3rd line level) or implementation role and are looking to move in to a project-based environment. This will allow them to use and extend their current technical skills as well as developing skills in project management.

Candidates must hold MCSE or MCITP certification and/or have equivalent experience. Previous exposure to a project environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Experience in the following technologies is essential:

Windows Server 2003/2008
Windows XP/7
Active Directory
DNS, DHCP, WINS
Group Policy
Networking (LAN, WAN, Switches, Security)

Experience in the following technologies is desirable:

HP Server, Desktop and Storage hardware
Backups
Watchguard Firewalls
Virtualisation - Citrix, VMware and Hyper-V
Symantec Altiris
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit

MCP/MCSE/MCITP or equivalent experience
Prince 2 Foundation or Practitioner (Preferred but not essential)
