IT - PROJECT MANAGER - NØDNETT SUPPORT TOOLS
HIGH LEVEL PROJECT SUMMARY:
Motorola Solutions (MSI) is responsible for the nationwide TETRA Nødnett project in Norway. Nødnett is the multi-agency digital radio communication system owned by a separate administration body, Direktoratet for Nødkommunikasjon (DNK - The Directorate for Emergency Communication), which leads the development of the communication network for emergency and public safety services in Norway and which falls under the jurisdiction of the Norwegian Ministry of Justice. Motorola Solutions has broadened its role from sub-supplier of the technology for the TETRA digital radio communications infrastructure to prime contractor, including all managed services for the rollout and implementation of the system.
PURPOSE:
The PM will manage multiple work streams including: IT, Business, Security, Citrix VDI and Application Support of the requirement for the project.
The Project will be split into 3 prioritized areas:
1 - Applications
2 - General Storage/Infrastructure
3 - OSS Network/Red Zone
This role requires a Project Manager (PM) with strong skills in Infrastructure, Applications and detailed requirements gathering. The individual should be knowledgeable and confident enough to question the requirements being requested and suggest alternatives. It is essential that the person in this role is able to handle a multi-faceted project; ideally with experience of a large-scale site rollout program or system/application upgrade.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. The individual should enjoy a consistently changing landscape and be willing and able to adopt new processes and tools. The Candidate should be able to self learn and quickly come up to speed with new technologies.
The role is to be primarily based in Oslo, Norway but may require occasional travel within Europe to visit other MSI or subcontractor facilities - a degree of flexibility is therefore required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound experience obtained within a complex telecoms environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and/or functional areas
- Must possess an analytical thought process and a diligent attention to detail
- Ability to provide analysis, design, build, testing, cutover, support and maintenance activities
- Strong decision making skills
-Excellent time management and prioritization skills
-Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; Norwegian language skills is highly desirable to work with key stakeholders and to understand and work in accordance with the Norwegian Security Act.
- Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline preferred
