IT Project Manager

Resource 1 is in need of an IT Project Manager for a government agency project in Washington, D.C for a 2-3 long-term contract or straight perm. Individual will be responsible for a team of 2-3 .NET Developers, QA Analyst, Network Engineer and 2 Business Analysts. Responsibility will include the full life cycle development of a Loan Management and Financial/Reporting system as well as associated modules for a financial government program. Individual will be allowed to work remotely, but must be local to D.C. area because of required attendance at team meetings. Experience managing government projects is a big plus for this position. Individual should have experience managing development projects for large companies (preferably in the financial services/banking industry). Individual will be in charge of team co-ordination, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, status reports, timetables, resource management, etc. Individual should also be familiar with web technologies and the SDLC. Experience with Agile Methodology or other iterative approach is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position. PMP Certification is strongly preferred.
