IT Project Analyst Job

IT PROJECT ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Concord, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- IT Project Analysts focus on projects that involve software development as well as hardware/infrastructure projects.
- The IT Project Analyst oversees one or more projects on an ongoing and regular basis.
- Individually, or as part of a team, responsible for project planning and statusing, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project, communicating project status and issues to team and management, acting to reduce risk and resolve issues.
- Coordinates with other projects and work groups.
- May assist Project Managers in the administration/coordination of a project or have responsibility over a smaller scale project or project area.
- Track project information, follow up on issue status, resolve routine issues, report status to management.
- Gather information, prepare and maintain on-going reports for management.
- Prepare project plans.
- Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
- Prepare and send communications to a wide range of team members.
- Write draft level functional specs or gather information/requirements for specs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Conceptual understanding of current technologies and methodologies to plan and communicate effectively with project team and sponsors.
- Experience with project management methodologies and techniques, and their application in business and technical environments.
- Experience with planning, coordinating, and administering projects in a business and/or technology environment.
- Experience with applicable technology sufficient to communicate and consult with team members, customers and management.
- Experience with risk management.
- Experience managing multiple projects or large project with complex inter-dependencies.
- Experience developing and managing complex project budgets.
- Experience facilitating meetings with high level cross functional teams.
- Oral communication skills sufficient to explain business needs to technical personnel and technical information to users.
- Written communication skills sufficient to create technical specifications, project plans and other project documentation.
- Knowledge of communication, and Project Management tools to create project documents and reports.
- Solid understanding of business or technical process changes, implementations, and deployments.
- Analytical ability sufficient to understand user requirements and translate them into technical terms, to develop quantitative status reports, to identify and quantify issues and risks.
- Generally acceptable project management tools such as MS Project, Visio, story boarding.
- ITIL Processes - Release and Deployment Management, Change Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management.
- MS Software skills Organizational and coordinating skills General analytical skills.
- Verbal communication skills sufficient to gather information and relay project information to a wide audience.
- Written communication skills sufficient to create drafts of specifications, project plans and other project documentation.
- Typically have eight (8+) years of directly related experience
- NOTE: Telecom & Networking Project Management experience is a big PLUS!
- AA required, BS/BA preferred or equivalent experience.
- Generally requires BS Degree in an IT or Business Field or equivalent work experience.
