IT OPERATIONAL SPECIALIST/NATO/SC CLEARED/CONFIGURATION/APPLICATION SUPPORT/INSTALLATION/PROBLEM MANAGEMENT

RATE: €385-400 per Day

LOCATION: Brunssum

CLEARANCE: NATO Secret/SC

DURATION: 12 Months

Skills, knowledge, experience required

Experience and Education:

A university degree in a relevant discipline and 2 years of specific experience or 10 years of appropriate qualifications and experience.
Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.

Technical skills - derived from SFIA:
- System installation/decommissioning (HSIN) L-4
- Configuration management (CFMG) L-4
- Application Support (ASUP) L-4
- Database Administration (DBAD) L-4
- Problem Management (PBMG) L-4

Language Proficiency:
- A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable.

Duties/role:

Generic Principal
- Provides engineering and implementation guidance as required.
- Investigates, defines and resolves complex technical issues.
- Advises on and assist the development of standards, methods and tools.
- Analyses plans, designs, requirements and associated risks, advises on technical solutions and mitigations.
- Plans and supports implementations against available resources and quality targets.

Specific Principal
- Responsible for the installation, operation, management and maintenance of assigned CORE and Functional Systems software, Databases and other Applications and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas.
- Responsible for applications and data integrity, supports IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Maintains liaison with other CSU internal units, Service Lines and other technical organisations.
- Provides support to development of operations and exercises plans and to related local CIS Service provision during execution phase.
- Documents design and configuration of assigned applications and the required operating procedures.
- Implements procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of applications and provides reports as required.
- Monitors and advises on the capacity and scalability requirements of the assigned applications.
- Assists with and implements assigned project work packages.
