IT Manager and Planner - Immediate Start - 6 Month Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced IT Manager and Planners within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide high level strategic, planning and process improvement advice according to industry best practice for the management of the ICT Portfolio of projects;
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance release management planning;
- Act as an escalation point for issues and risks from projects;
- Communicate and manage end user expectations during planning and rollout of releases;
- Oversight of projects in flight;
- Manage the adherence to state gates;
- Management risks/issues at Portfolio level and program release delivery;
- Chair operational meetings;
- Support the Executive team with reporting requirements; and
- Conduct Release Post Implementation Review.

SKILLS:

- Project Management experience preferably in PRINCE2 methodology;
- Must have a minimum of 5 years Project Management experience or equivalent;
- Proven experience in planning, implementing and managing release processes according to industry best practice;
- Proven ability to implement strategies to enhance release management planning;
- Proven experience in managing releases and adhering to stage gates;
- Highly developed communication skills with a proven ability to communicate both orally and in writing with Senior Executive, management and stakeholders and the ability to escalate issues appropriately; and
- Experience in managing stakeholder interests and client expectations and escalating issues and risks where appropriate.
