IT Deployment Manager

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Deployment Engineer with experience in deploying applications and packages to Testing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong Puppet experience. You will work on multiple projects spanning varied technologies, including Oracle, Java, ETL, .NET, SOA Suite, MQ etc. This is a very hands-on role and will require regularly supporting releases going into our QA environments.

Key Accountabilities

- Working closely with developers & development leads to understand deployment architecture.
- Provisioning and validating Controlled Environments used for DIT, CI, ST, SIT, UAT.
- Managing & Administering these Environments.
- Automating deployments for the New Platform programme.
- Supporting continuous deployment for Platform projects.

Skills & Experience

Technical Knowledge

Essential:

- System administration experience, OS: Linux/Unix/Debian.
- Scripting: Bash/Shell.
- Java/J2EE/Oracle application deployment, Patching.
- Administration of Web/App serves: Apache Tomcat/Weblogic/WebSphere.
- Databases: Oracle/MySQL/SQLServer, PL/SQL basics.
- Provisioning tools: Puppet.
- Automation experience.
- Version control: Git/Mercurial/Subversion SVN.
- Continuous Integration: Jenkins/Team City/AntHillPro/Team Foundation Server.

Good to have:

- Cloud computing: VCloud Director, VMWare, Amazon EC2.
- Tools experience: Nexus, Gerrit, Fisheye, Crucible, Sonar, Jira, Maven, Ant/Ivy.
- Experience working in ETL/Data-warehouse projects.
