IT DATA ARCHITECT - ENTERPRISE LOGICAL DATAMODELLING

We are looking for an IT Data Architect to work within our Systems Architecture team in IT. You will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment on multi-million pound programmes that are redeveloping the University's student and curriculum systems. Much of this is being done as in house development.

You will provide expertise on data architecture within the Systems Architecture team, contributing to the OU Enterprise Architecture and individual solution architectures.

Working with business systems analysts, solution architects and DBAs, you will be responsible for ensuring that an appropriate and best practice enterprise data architecture is created and maintained, to maximise efficiency and performance of software application development and production services. You will provide consultancy and support on the production of logical data models, ensure their compliance with agreed architectures and frameworks, and maintain the University's Common Data Model.

You should demonstrate experience of best practice for data architecture. Knowledge of Microsoft and Oracle technologies would be an advantage as would exposure to TOGAF. Strong influencing and presentation skills are also a pre-requisite, to help drive strategic architectures into the existing software estate.
