IT Business Analyst

An exciting, long-term opportunity is available at DG RTD in Brussels for an IT BUSINESS ANALYST. Directorate-General for Research and Innovation was created to achieve the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy and its key flagship initiative, the Innovation Union.

Sygma and Compass are the projects to build a System for Grant Management for the whole Research Family in order to support the operations of the Horizon 2020 framework program along with the previous programs like FP7. The type of tasks will concentrate on supporting the Commission staff in the area of structuration and implementation of the grant management systems.

TASKS will include:

- Analysis of Business requirements
- Business model analysis
- Process analysis
- Assistance in Vision documents
- Business processes modelling
- Functional requirements and business cases analysis
- Risk analysis
- Depending on the circumstances, the expert may be requested to provide assistance or support in the resolution of production issues

We are searching for a candidate with the following PROFILE:

- Minimum 8 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 4 years of IT professional experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in one or more of the following:
- Business analysis tools (e-g- Aris, Enterprise Architect)
- Modelling tools (eg UML)
- Project methodologies (eg RUP)
- Experience in IS consulting and studies
- Proven experience with quality and security procedures
- In depth knowledge of information systems matters and large organisation administrative business processes
- In depth knowledge of modelling tools
- In depth knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Knowledge of business analysis tools
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (eg RUP)
- Strong capacity in preparing and writing reports
- Strong capacity to give high level presentations
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, excellent communicator
- Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment
- Excellent English, French would be an asset

The successful candidate should be able to start ASAP. This position is offered as a long term freelance contract.
