Interim Purchasing Manager

The ability to define scopes of work, evaluate suppliers, understand and interpret what the business needs, solving complex requirements and most importantly getting the quality v cost equation right in an environment where quality of supply is of paramount importance are the essence of this role. It goes without saying that you will have excellent negotiating and technical purchasing skills. CIPS or MCIPS qualified.

You will have a good understanding of the latest supply chain management thinking such that supplier contracts incorporate best practice rather than simple service levels. As our client is a world leader in aerospace defence systems you will need to put framework agreements in place, as well as meet the requirements of framework agreements that our client participates in. We are looking for candidates who have a wide range of experience across a number of categories eg facilities management, aircraft cleaning contracts, general IT services etc. The role is not responsible for the purchasing of engineering or technical products and services.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to bring together a diverse business community to get sign off for new products and services. You will also be responsible for managing the day to day transactional elements of the purchasing function. Systems literacy ideally in Sap would be a distinct advantage.
