Interim Deputy Director of Nursing

THE CLIENT

Our client a leading Mental Health Trust in the South East are looking to appoint an experienced interim Deputy Director of Nursing. The role will report into the Director of Nursing and will be responsible for clinical leadership of Trust nursing staff and ensuring all clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives are implemented.

THE INTERIM ASSIGNMENT

The role will be to deputise for the Director of Nursing, lead the delivery of the Nursing Strategy supporting and holding all areas of nursing to account for achievement of key objectives. They will also be expected to drive the implementation of the quality strategy for the Trust, work with the divisional management teams to ensure that quality targets are met and ensure the rigour of the clinical policies.

THE INTERIM MANAGER

Applicants must have a qualification as a registered nurse (Mental Health or Learning Disability), experience of working with the Board of Directors in the NHS at an 8D level or above. Applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing and up to date study of a number of domains of clinical governance such as: clinical audit and assurance, patient safety - systems and design, models and techniques of quality improvement. Preference will be given to candidates that have a highly developed specialist knowledge of systems and structures of clinical governance and assurance and an excellent understanding of the issues and challenges faced in delivering quality nursing care in a mental health organization.
