Interim Children Safeguarding Lead

I am urgently looking for an experienced Interim Children Safeguarding Lead to support one of the CCGs whilst they put in place the recommendations of an independent safeguarding review.

Key responsibilities:

* Ensure that CCGs are meeting their statutory safeguarding responsibilities and take action to escalate this where there are identified risks and gaps
* Contribute to and deliver the CCG safeguarding strategy and plan for children and young people.
* Provide expert advice to organisations across the health community on questions of planning, strategy and commissioning with regard to safeguarding children
* Provide expert interpretation and ensure implementation of legislation, national policy and guidance in safeguarding children
* Advise and input into the development of practice guidance and policies for all health staff and ensure that performance against these is appropriately audited
* Provide specialist advice about child safeguarding risks (including any deficiencies or vulnerable areas in service provision) to CCGs and in particular to the relevant Chief Nurse(s)
* Ensure that expert advice from professionals with specialist experience and knowledge of policy and procedures and on the day-to-day management of vulnerable groups is available to all organisations delivering health services and partner agencies across the designated locality
* Advise and support named/lead safeguarding professionals across the health community.
