Integration Software Engineer Job

INTEGRATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Danvers, MA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- An opportunity exists in the Genomics Services Bioinformatics department for an Integration Software Engineer. Looking for a software engineer, not an IT/hardware engineer.
- This vital role provides development, support and reporting services for LIMS systems which deliver the high throughput sample handling required for the Genomic Services operation.
- Provide application support for Genomics Informatics applications.
- Help support applications involved in customer data submission, laboratory information systems, and data processing & customer delivery.
- Current software engineering capacity to support these applications is limited and is blocking the development of additional revenue generating services (RNASeq/454 replacement).
- This position is critical to reducing risk of a production outage due to application failures and to enable the development of important revenue generating services.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Applicants will be educated to bachelor/master or possess equivalent relevant experience in a science, mathematical, computational or data related subject.
- They will have the ability to think through technical design challenges and workflow/integration requirements in the laboratory and propose integration solutions which are fit for purpose and maintainable.
- They will have experience of planning and system maintenance and upgrade strategies.
- Technical skills required are programming and de-bugging skills ideally with experience of workflow, integration and reporting functions of LIMS Systems and key technologies [such as report writers, together with other languages].
- Relevant experience of delivering LIMS within a research environment would be an advantage, as would expertise in working in a Good Laboratory Practice [GLP] environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication and being able to interact effectively with staff at all levels is also essential.
- This software engineer should have experience working in Linux with Oracle.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to communicate information management system concepts to non-experts, and to provide effective support.
- Strong technical expertise and ability to lead the development small scale efforts.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the following technologies: Perl, Java, Oracle, MySQL, PL/SQL, PHP, .NET, Linux, MS Windows.
