Instrument Technician

My client who are a leading name in the Energy and utilities sector are currently looking for an Instrument Technician to join them.

Role:
To undertake routine instrument maintenance, the maintenance requirements will be routine inspections, overhauls and examinations. There will also be defects that are of varying priorities - this will necessitate an element of flexibility in work ethic and the candidate will be expected to assist the mechanical technician in general mechanical duties. Primary maintenance obligations relate to Peterborough Compressor Station and the surrounding pipeline/AGI sites.

Experience:
Industrial Instrument Maintenance experience, preferably within the upstream Oil & Gas sector.
Proven experience undertaking corrective maintenance under break down situations.
An understanding of appropriate Company/Industry standards and instructions
Assessed as competent against STC framework, with detailed understanding of Safe Control of Operations documentation. Qualified Instrument Person time served if possible, must be skilled in Maintenance and calibration of Pressure, Temperature, level, speed, vibration equipment, general fault finding and good working knowledge of control systems, PLC fault finding and vibration equipment.
Qualifications Ideally ONC/BTEC/HNC or above in Instrumentation or electrical & electronic systems.
Hazardous area training(Compex) and PLC training

Core knowledge of Control and Instrumentation equipment and principles including:
1) Knowledge of Pressure, Temperature, level, speed, vibration equipment.
2) Knowledge of Control Systems and PLC.
3) Knowledge of Hazardous Area (Compex) equipment
