Instrument and Electrical Designer (I&E) Designer Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an INSTRUMENT AND ELECTRICAL DESIGNER (I&E) DESIGNER II to join our client in Allentown, PA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

- The duration of this job approximately 6 to 12 months.
- Pay Range: Up to $42.84 per hour.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This position will be part of the engineering team supporting the design of plant electrical system installations and control systems for plant process automation.
- AC/DC power, component selection/sizing and InterconnecT wiring, raceway sizing, circuit protection devices, and SCCR calculations.
- Developing complete electrical installation packages containing AC electric motors, transformers, power and lighting panels.
- Providing plant layouts, grounding grid, underground conduit designs to scale.
- Designing control panels (schematic, assembly, and bill of materials).
- PLC or relay-based control logic and/or HMI systems.
- Ethernet networking basics.
- Instrument Tubing design.

Job Qualifications:

- Minimum of Associate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology degree or a combination of education and four (4) years of experience which provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Electrical and Instrumentation designer with power engineering/design concepts experience and a proficient user of Micro-station CAD.

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge/Education:
- Proficient in using Micro-Station CAD.
- Knowledgeable in using MS Office software.
- Experience in selecting and sizing electrical components and determining associated power requirements.
- Knowledgeable in Codes and Standards such as NEC (including Class I Division I/II explosive atmosphere electrical requirements and design), NFPA, NEMA, UL 508A, European Union CE mark requirements etc.
- You must possess effective oral and written communications skills.
- The applicant must possess a positive work ethic, team work, have a willingness to learn, have good problem solving and interpersonal skills, and must be able to readily accept and complete assigned tasks.
