Instrument and Controls/Life Safety Systems Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an INSTRUMENT AND CONTROLS/LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our client in Portland, OR.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the engineering and design of I&C/LSS systems for multiple projects with varying complexity.
- Work includes taking various levels of responsibility for, and participation in the development of, project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Providing technical direction to outside A cleanroom retrofits; and facility electrical, mechanical, and process systems.
- Expertise in low voltage control systems and construction law would be an added advantage.
- Ability to develop and implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules.
- Familiarity with design for industrial control systems, PLC's, networking, Data Acquisition systems and Life Safety/Security Systems.
- Basic knowledge and/or understanding of control methods for mechanical and process systems.
- Strong technical expertise in instrumentation and control methodology and ability to provide tactical direction to a large engineering team, both direct and Matrix report.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical engineering and design information and solutions to a wide audience of stakeholders such as manufacturing customers, Technology Development, Project Managers, Construction Managers and contractors.
- Must have an ability to interface with a multi-user customer base.
- Must have the ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience in design and construction of Life Safety, Fire Alarm, Security and Instrumentation Controls is preferred.
- Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities mechanical systems would be an added advantage.
