Infrastructure Technical Consultant/Engineer - VMWare, Windows, Citrix, Cisco, Storage is required by my client who is based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

ESSENTIAL

- Excellent knowledge of the following key technologies;
- VMware vSphere 5.x, MS Exchange 2007/2010/2013, MS Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Citrix Xen App & Xen Desktop, Storage Area Networks, Solarwinds Orion
- Networking principles including switching, routing and extensive support across LANsFoglight, Struxureware, Azure, F5/Big IP Load Balancer administration
- Demonstrable experience of working within a senior technical team
- Experience of working with a Tier 3 Data Centre environment
- Excellent knowledge of the ITIL framework

ROLE PURPOSE:

To provide 3rd line IT infrastructure support for key systems and services and to design solutions that align to technology trends and agreed Markerstudy standards. To work within a highly skilled and competent team of technology experts and deliver excellent quality IT support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Accountable for the support of the server and networking infrastructure across the group.
- To work with 3rd party support services as required.
- To provide assistance and support to the project team throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide design authority expertise to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose and delivered to an agreed standard
- To ensure all aspects of the infrastructure and group systems are monitored and appropriate alerting mechanisms have been setup.
- To ensure regular health checks are carried out on the infrastructure.
- To ensure the right level of documentation is created, available and maintained throughout the environment.
- To ensure that that all backup services for the group are appropriate and maintained accordingly
- To work with and contribute to specific ITIL based functions, including Change, Asset, Capacity and Availability management.
- To ensure appropriate KPIs are achieved and that SLAs are met.
- Excellent understanding of the commercial and business impact of IT outages with the business.
- To continually identify areas of improvement within the infrastructure and suggest appropriate solutions
- To be capable of supporting a 24x7 service operation.
- Carry out performance/capacity planning for the IT Infrastructure
