Infrastructure Project Manager (Datacenter) Job

INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER (DATACENTER) needed for a contract opportunity to join Yoh's client in Newtown Square, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Manages complete project life cycle; Initiating through Closing - manage stakeholder identification, requirements gathering, specification and scope development, integrate project plan components, direct execution, drive communications, manage risk and quality, manage project resources and budget, conduct project review sessions, oversee project closing and incorporate project-derived learning into technical and project management knowledge assets.
- Leads or facilitates engagement with client entities to identify project requirements.
- Identifies project stakeholders and manages stakeholder expectations.
- Documents client and stakeholder requirements and identifies resource skills to assess client requirements.
- Leads development of solution specifications based on client requirements to meet functionality, performance and availability criteria.
- Prepares solution proposals containing time and cost estimates, supports business case development.
- Develops project documentation - project charter, planning documents, status reports, quality measurement reports, stakeholder register, project closing lessons, knowledge asset contributions.
- Initiates, plans and manages implementation projects following standard Project Management practices and methods.
- Manages project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks and resources.
- Builds, develops and leads project teams.
- Manages communications and delivers consistent project status reporting to provide transparency.
- Leads implementation of complete infrastructure solutions meeting business requirements and stakeholder success criteria in alignment with established IT standards.
- Leads or oversees development of detailed systems operations designs.
- Leads or oversees development operational and installation procedures for hardware, network, security, storage, compute virtualization, operating system and management software.
- Ensures solution quality through comprehensive testing and formal quality control methods.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Knowledge of traditional Project Management approaches and methodologies such as those defined in the PMBOK, PRINCE2, etc.
- Proficiency in the application of accepted Project Management methods and techniques.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of budget management principles and their application.
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and their application.
- Knowledge of quality management methods and their application.
- Ability to build, develop and lead teams.
- Ability to drive conflict resolution.
- Ability to negotiate with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Basic knowledge of typical data or computing center infrastructure components.
- Basic knowledge of x86 and RISC hardware platforms and components.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems such as Windows 2003/2008, Suse Linux, Redhat, etc.
- Basic knowledge of data network abstraction and virtualization techniques such as VLAN.
- Basic knowledge of network storage solutions based on NAS and SAN architectures.
- Knowledge of personal computers and personal computer software.
- Knowledge of file maintenance and report generation methods.
- Knowledge of interactive processing and remote printing.
- Knowledge of the fundamental concepts and operating principles of data communications and data processing hardware and software.
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles, theories, techniques, and methodologies of data processing systems analysis.
- Ability to prepare detailed written instructions and documentation.
- Ability to analyze instructions and data.
- Ability to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Ability to design solutions based on technical specifications.
- Ability to gather and analyze facts, define problems, and devise solutions.
- Ability to effectively make oral and written reports and presentations and prepare clear and concise graphs and charts.
