Infrastructure Architect

Currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a Infrastructure Architect to be based out of one of my clients in Basel, Switzerland on a contract basis.

Main tasks:

*Create a Reference Architecture for the Infrastructure Environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB)
*Describe workload types and their key characteristics,
*Define application classes and their non-functional requirements
*Describe solution patterns and recommendations for key aspects of the Novartis DBMS infrastructure environments, including but not limited to
oApplication Class to Platform Mapping
oHigh Availability
oDisaster Recovery
oBackup/Restore
oData Integrity
oMultitenancy
oVirtualization
oPerformance and Scalability
oOptimization
oData Compression
oMonitoring
oSecurity
oEncryption
oSeparation of Environments
*Support the development and maintenance of the Novartis DBMS Infrastructure Roadmap
*Provide Consulting regarding the implementation of DB Security Baselines
*Create architecture deliverables, eg DB selection guidelines, platform feature comparisons, architecture diagrams, templates, white papers etc.
*Support the planning, execution and documentation of Technical POCs

Experience:
*Excellent up-to-date knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server environments, including Oracle 12c and SQL Server 2014

*Practical experience with Oracle RMAN, RAC, DataGuard, Golden Gate, Multitenancy

*Practical experience with SQL Server 2014, SQL Server DB-Mirroring, Always-On Groups etc.

*Practical Experience with major DB Life Cycle Management and Upgrade Programs

*Excellent knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud Computing concepts and technologies

*Excellent understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backupself-starter

*University degree (master level) desired
