Infrastructure Architect

Infrastructure Architect - Cloud - Vmware

My client, a leading IT Managed Services company, is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join their team.

This role reports to the Lead Infrastructure Architect; the Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design, specification, test and documentation of the latest products and services to support a fast growing and agile portfolio.

Responsibilities:

- Working in unison with a non-technical Service Designer and possibly a wider project team, you will be the technical design authority, leading the assessment of requirements with view to designing and implementing a well-defined managed services solution.
- Defining cloud solutions and supporting Operations team to provide a highly resilient, autoscaleable and manageable platform
- Final technical ownership for new service offerings, supporting the business in assessing and coming up with solutions for bespoke client requirements and future strategic service requirements.
- Contribute to the generation of key product/service documentation including requirements catalogues, product descriptions, product roadmaps and internal product collateral

Skills:

- Experience of architecting a VMware based Cloud Environment
- Excellent understanding of the IT Managed Services Industry and service-oriented architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- In-depth experience architecting and operating virtualized infrastructures with a special emphasis on VMware vSphere, vCloud Director and SRM
- Experience in implementing public and private cloud solutions
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure technologies (systems, storage-NetApp/3Par, security, networking - Cisco)
- Experience with Elastic Scaling and Automated Application Deployment on cloud solutions
