Information System Engineer - Asset Maintenance

One of our utilities clients is urgently looking for an INFORMATION SYSTEM ENGINEER to assist with developing an information specification and domain model for maintaining physical assets within Gas Asset Management.

These are physical assets and you must have experience of modelling with this type of asset. The aim is to take the organisation from a situation where they find and fix faults across their assets on an ad hoc basis - to predicting and preventing them before the fail.

To give you a feel for the project, you have a set of assets, how do you describe those assets? They have tooling that they can put those descriptions in, they have a methodology in order to structure the descriptions, they have a process for acquiring and validating that information from the business. It's connecting the information which is key and using a specific methodology based on a variation of Class modelling in UML that reflects a framework enterprise architecture approach which is based on MODAF and revolves around ISO 42010 (TOGAF).

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

UML class modelling

Asset Information management and identification

Familiar with ISO 42010 or MODAF was of structuring class models

Strong business Analysis or Systems engineering experience

Stakeholder management

SOFT SKILLS

Dealing with direct business users/specialists/technicians going through validation process and challenging and reviewing (traditional BA approach) NOT reporting they need the analysis.

Need someone to push back and build a full picture.

Domain knowledge - not necessarily gas and electric but asset management.
