Information Security Specialist, Governance and Compliance (S17)

- INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE)
- MAJOR, HIGHLY COMPLEX ORGANISATION
- 15 MONTH CONTRACT 

Our client operates a highly complex environment running multiple systems/applications across a range of hardware platforms. This complexity invariably leads to the need for exceptional diligence when it comes to information/systems security. They are now looking for a experienced Security Specialist to join their team.

In this role you will assist the client in:- - Reviewing new and existing applications and systems infrastructure
- Security configuration and working with security vendors to ensure services are correctly implemented
- Security training and awareness activities
- Identifying, investigating and remediating security problems
- Identifying areas for improvement and producing 'roadmaps' for that improvement

To be considered for this role you will need to have:- - 5 years experience in Information/Systems Security combined with at least 8 years experience in the IT sector
- CISSP certifications or similar
- Solid understanding of Windows/UNIX/Linux operating environments
- Solid knowledge of security infrastructure such as Firewalls, proxies, endpoint security, remote access and authentication
- Experience in Scripting - preferably Perl
- Experience with/knowledge of ITIL processes including incident, problem and change
