DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUESTED SERVICE

The Content Management Expert/Information Architect will be responsible - in relation to one or more projects, to be established upon arrival - for the following deliverables

- Design and implementation of content management processes, including:
- o Incorporating industry standard classification schemes into the existing content management systems
- o Publishing content for fixed format and dynamic presentation
- o Large document management
- o Workflow
- o Content access management
- Design and implementation of enhancements to the existing document management solution, including:
- o Expanding existing data management policies to include unstructured data
- o Expanding existing metadata schemas to include unstructured data
- o Integrating with a Social Business Platform
- o Records management & Information Lifecycle
- o Versioning
- o Improving the relevancy of search strategies
- Providing guidance on governance issues specific to content management
- Providing technology architecture recommendations for the content management solution
- Data requirements documentation
- 3rd party Services (Provide & Consume)

DESCRIPTION OF THE MAIN TASKS

The selected consultant will work as part of a project team investigating and designing new document management and collaboration systems. He/she will be working closely with business analysts and architects, data architects, document/records management staff, infrastructure staff and development staff.

IN THIS ROLE, HE/SHE WILL:

- capture, model, describe and outline improvements for unstructured data requirements, business rules, data quality requirements, data security requirements and processes that affect information management
- design and implement a taxonomy/ontology structure to support pharmaceutical and medical classification schemes such as ATC, SNOMED, MESH, etc.
- o investigate methods/tools to apply taxonomies to current documents
- design and implement a single, consistent repository that serves EMA's unstructured information management needs
- design and implement an efficient content management process

In the context of the Agency's Enterprise Architecture governance, the ECM/Information Architect will be supported and steered by the Agency's Lead Data Architect and other lead architects, to ensure continuous alignment with the enterprise architecture and standardised working practices and methods on document/information management.

REQUIRED SOFTWARE EXPERTISE

- At least 5 years of experience is required in roles covering the key responsibilities described above.
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding is required of document management systems, specifically Documentum and Sharepoint backed by Oracle databases.
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding is required of information structure, information navigation, workflow and information representation.
- Good knowledge of content management processes and implementations
- Experience with process modelling is an advantage.
- Experience with the use of Sparx Enterprise Architect is an advantage.
- Experience with RUP or comparable systems engineering disciplines is an advantage.
- It would be advantageous to have technical skills such as knowledge of:
- o Toolkits such as Buldoser
- o Legacy data migration
- o Search technologies: xPLORE/FAST/Fed.Search/GSA
- o Object models
- Large organisation experience is required.
- Any experience in working in Pharma, Healthcare or Government is an advantage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- The Information Architect should be self-motivated, pro-active and be able to work on their own initiative.
