In-Service Engineer - HMNB Clyde, Scotland - up to £330pd - 5 months

I am looking for an engineer with a CIS, Network or electrical background who is proficient with AutoCad and has completed the Installation Design Course at RAF Henlow.

In compliance with legal requirements, the HMG Security Policy Framework and the Cabinet Office Information Assurance Governance Framework, established the MOD CIS Resilience Policy and Recovery Strategy.

The Site Coordinating Installation Design Authorities, are delegated by Defence CIDA, to ensure that all MOD CIS installations are available, flexible and economical, whilst maintaining confidentiality, integrity and resilience of the data (JSP604, Lft 480) The SCIDA function is to ensure that the full benefits of Physical and Environmental Configuration Management for MOD CIS are delivered across locations documented in the SCIDA agreement or contract.

Wherever CIS equipment is installed, correct procedures should be followed regarding CIDA assurance, since any unauthorised engineering changes to MOD CIS infrastructure presents a varying degree of risk to Data Assurance, Communications Security and Health and Safety.

All changes must be documented through an Engineering Change Request (ECR) and subject to Installation Approval being granted by CIDA or a delegated authority of CIDA. This requirement is satisfied through the issue of a Certificate of Installation Conformance (ECR5).

Key Responsibilities

*Provide support or leadership on the technical aspects of the in-service phase.
*Apply engineering best practice, ensure that all stakeholders are effectively managed throughout the engineering activities, involve specialists as required and actively consider safety implications before making decisions
*Provide technical support through life to the User and other projects, involving and interfacing with Suppliers and specialists as required
*Take responsibility to deliver delegated technical work packages, making sure that safety aspects are considered
*Work with Users and Suppliers to ensure the overarching capability is realised to its full potential
*Minimise and manage the risk to availability, whilst ensuring that the solution remains safe and fit for purpose through life
*Manage the obsolescence of components, and ensure that the solution is properly disposed of (or terminated) when appropriate
*Follow department guidance on applying a common engineering approach, ensuring the impact of deviation is understood
*Advice and Guidance on CIS installations i.a.w.JSP 604 (Lft 4800), JSP440 and SDIP-29
*Coordinate the Engineering Change Request process and report on TEMPEST issues
*Ensure baseline drawings are updated in Cad.
