Implementation Manager

EDT Global are happy to bring to market an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Govt Dept in Sydney. We are looking for an Implementation Manager with strong PM skills to undertake this 6 + month contract. Great day rates available and brilliant team to work alongside.

This program is one of the largest change programs in Government. It was established to deliver three large-scale enterprise software solutions to replace a number of outdated, disparate and unsupported Legacy systems. The solutions include a single SAP-based financial system; a single human resources system and a single payroll system for the entire department.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Proven skills and success in project managing complex and/or high risk software solutions with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience of project managing a complex integrated software implementation from end to end which includes;

- Phased software upgrades
- Data migration from multiple Legacy systems
- Business readiness and communication activities for a large and diverse user base
- Training programs
- Release and cut-over activities including user provisioning
- Transition to BAU activities

Experienced in vendor management in a project delivery environment including ensuring contractual deliverables are met at a quality standard.
Demonstrated knowledge of program governance and its purpose.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Implementation Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the end to end delivery of the business readiness and technical activities. This is a central role to ensuring that there is a coordinated approach to delivering the solutions.

The implementation manager will;

- Develop and coordinate an end to end implementation plan in a Matrix environment.
- Undertake project and implementation planning and develop project documentation, liaising with the designated technical, change, deployment and training Leads as appropriate to define and develop project implementation plans and activities.
- Drive program activities to ensure they are delivered according to the scope, schedule and budget.
- Provide strategic advice and support to the Group Solution Director and the Director Program Deployment Office.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues; developing contingency plans and escalating significant issues and risks where required.
- Provided targeted intervention and management where issues with implementation have been identified; this may involve developing and managing a detailed plan to ensure a key milestone is met.
- Develop reports and manage/interpret information to understand risks and issues; provide weekly reporting on status .
- Establish, implement and manage systems to monitor and report on the status of the implementation.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated knowledge of standard project management methodologies and principles (eg Prince2, PMBOK).
- Large scale transformational program experience.
- Desirable to have Government experience.
- Desirable to have SAP Finance experience in a delivery role.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business systems or IT.
