ILS Consultant Engineer - Defence

Our client is a leader in the Defence, Energy, Security and Transport industries, working nationally as well as internationally with governments and companies in these sectors. One of their Defence divisions, based in Buckinghamshire, is looking for an ILS Consultant Engineer to join their growing support team.

Description of the role

The role will involve close interaction with customers and internal teams, delivering innovative support solutions to meet customer requirements.

The successful candidate will be required to define innovative support solutions to meet customer requirements and budget. You will lead the support engineering activities for specific bids, to deliver a customer capability, and with customers to define the support system requirements as well as developing system/product ILS and AR&M requirements.

As an ILS Consultant, you will drive ARM technical specification definition and subcontractor evaluation and selection. Leading system design activities to ensure application solutions exhibit appropriate performance, reliability, maintainability, and sustainability. You will assist with preparing and delivering ILS and AR&M programmes, representing the company in technology discussions with clients as a subject matter expert, whilst ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to business objectives.

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

*Technical expertise as an ILS Manager and/or AR&M Engineer.
*Experience in all phases of the system/product life cycle from requirements/solution definition, customer acceptance and in-service, through to disposal. Significant experience of full life cycle issues from concept through to disposal on major projects.
*Experienced in the application of ILS in to complex programmes for UK MoD and the defence industry.
*Technical expertise in designing, costing and implementing Support System solutions.
*In-depth understanding of defence standards Def Stan 00-600, Def Stan 00-40/42 and JSP 886.
*Technical expertise in compiling and analysis of LCC/WLC models.
*Significant experience of supporting Bids, responding to ITTs, and creating ILSPs.

Additional requirements
The successful candidate will need to have recently worked in a defence environment and be eligible for UK MOD security clearance.
