ICT ASSISTANT

£62.58 - £72.94 PER DAY PAYE

FULL TIME - 37 HOURS PER WEEK

TEMPORARY CONTRACT UNTIL 31ST MARCH 2014

Southend Borough Council is looking to employ a highly motivated ICT professional to provide an ICT support technician function across the organisation and service contracts. The council is committed to providing a high quality customer focused ICT support service.

You will work with a range of customers across the borough to maintain and support their ICT infrastructure and systems and assist with specific projects which will involve liaising with partners and service providers.

Along with a recognised ICT based technical/professional qualification you will require high level IT skills including knowledge and practical experience of Windows support and development environments. It would also be desirable to have hands on experience of ICT service support gained in a business environment.

You will need enthusiasm, creativity, good analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem solving. Also excellent interpersonal skills are essential for you to liaise effectively with staff, customers and suppliers at all levels.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

- Education to degree level
- IT Related Qualification at A Level or above
- Very high level of personal IT skills, in Microsoft Office
- Good report writing skills
- Understanding of current ICT issues as they impact on all areas within the council including legislation and policies
- Experience of the development and support of ICT application and technical infrastructure systems and services
- Focuses on customer satisfaction and delivers a quality service to the agreed standards
- Handles situations and problems with innovation and creativity
- Thinks analytically, getting to the heart of complex problems and issues
- Makes rational, realistic and sound judgements
