Design Centre Manager - Bristol - £60,000

I am currently looking for a Design centre manager for a leading semi-conductor company in Bristol. They are a leading supplier of high-quality analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products. The client are dedicated to providing customers with proprietary solutions and breakthrough technology in power management, protection, advanced communications, human interface, test & measurement, as well as wireless and sensing products. Our integrated circuits (ICs) are employed in communications, computer and computer-peripheral, automated test equipment, industrial and other commercial applications.

Position summary:

This position is responsible for managing one of four High Speed Analog/Mixed Signal IC design groups within the Analog/Mixed Signal Division. The ideal candidate is a natural collaborative leader who can work closely with counterparts to extend our competencies in Equalizers, PLLs, VCOs, Phase Detectors, ADCs, Amplifiers, etc. in a way that permits parallel development of multiple high speed products for both video or communications applications. This will require a balanced mix of strong technical skills and interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the department's business plan and budget;

Supervise and mentor the design teams to manage their project schedule and budget;

Attract and retain the high speed IC design resources required to support product development plans;

Performance management of high speed IC design resources; including individual career development plans;

Embrace core values and uphold quality standards;

Work with Marketing, Sales and other R&D departments to establish / implement product line strategies;

Complete the development of planned products according to existing specifications in line with schedule and budget expectations;

Maintain awareness of associated IC markets and actively participate in corporate strategy and planning;

Promote rigorous design philosophies to maximize quality and ensure first time right designs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering;

8 years' experience in developing integrated circuit solutions;

Experience as a leader large analog/mixed signal IC projects or as a leader of a group;

Responsive, courteous and customer focused with excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Excellent motivation & team-building skills.

A proven track record of success demonstrated by past product introductions;

Knowledge of IC design tools, especially Cadence environment;
