HV Governance Lead

NWe are supporting a Global Renewable Energy client in their search for a HV Governance Lead to work in their UK offices. He/she will be responsible for ensuring up-to-date compliancy with UK Electrical Law and Legislation and the clients Electrical Safety Rules regarding safety from HV & LV system, as well as responsibility for any required safety measurements that ensure the electrical design for safe operation & maintenance (for Construction & Operation scope of work). The Lead will be required to travel to the client's other sites in the UK and abroad. The client is looking for an individual to start this role from approx. 22nd June 2015 up until approx. 21st June 2016, with the possibility of a further 6 months extension thereafter. Hours of work will be on an average 12 hrs a day 5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Initial focal point from Operations & Construction for verification that requires safety measures are ensured in the electrical design for safe operation & maintenance are included of affected counties electrical Law & Legislation
- Alignment with the clients Operations Health & Safety Team
- Preparation and implementation of lessons description and training Matrix for each level of authorisation
- Preparation and implementation of basic safety rules, safety documents and permit to work setup
- Preparation, review and/or inputs of Risk Assessment and Method statements, including working instructions where required
- Annual review and update of the clients safety documents, templates and procedures in SHERLOCK and QUBE
- Certifying authorised/competent persons to energise, switch and operate the equipment, plant and/or wind farm
- Coordination and communication with Authorities, National Grid and/or third parties, when required
- Be proactive in maintaining competence level required for the role
- A generic, transparent and standardised authorisation process in accordance with the client HV Electrical Safety Rules
- Up-to -date survey and archive of affected country's Law & Legislation regarding safety from the HV/LV system
- Preparation, Implementation and carrying out of annual audit plan & program for Operations sites & Project sites, including and hoc inspections/audits

QUALIFICATIONS:

- MSc or relevant degree HV Engineer and or 275 - 400 kV Senior Authorised Person with Master Electrical Engineer background
- 8 - 15 years of electrical experience within the field of high voltage electricity
- Hold a valid operational High Voltage authorisation at the level that HV Governance lead are authorising.
